As part of this procurement procedure, the lake water intake and return pipelines for the lake water pumping station of the Energieverbund Enge are being tendered. Lake water is abstracted through the intake pipeline at a depth of 15 m. It flows by gravity into the pump room, where it passes through the heat exchangers and is subsequently pumped back into the lake via the return pipeline. Both pipelines run underground from the pump room at right angles to the shoreline to a depth of approximately 12 m. From there, they emerge from the ground and continue along the lakebed to the respective intake and return points. The intake pipeline has a length of 490 m, while the return pipeline has a length of 480 m. The intake pipeline enters the pump room at an elevation of 403.50 m above sea level. The pipe entry elevation is approximately 2.5 m (pipe centreline) below the mean water level of Lake Zurich.
