Description
Subject of the Contract: As part of the project, the existing gymnasium will be extended by adding two additional floors for use as a secondary school. The extension will be constructed using timber element construction. The new/extended staircases will be built as double-shell structures in exposed concrete. The two-story extension will include 12 classrooms (one of which will be equipped as a learning space), 7 group rooms, and two staff rooms with a terrace. At the heart of the school, a single-story atrium (open to the outside climate) is designed. Special Conditions: The renovation will take place predominantly during ongoing operations. A complete closure of the gymnasium is only planned for the duration of the timber construction work for the extension Heating: The existing woodchip heating system of the school has sufficient capacity to cover the extension as well. Heat distribution will be provided via underfloor heating. Through a changeover switch in the technical center, slight cooling can also be achieved via the underfloor heating. A heating/cooling coil in the ventilation unit allows the supply air to be heated in winter and slightly cooled in summer. The extension will include a substation on the 2nd floor, which will be connected to the main line in the technical center located in the basement of the gymnasium, requiring minor adjustment work. Cooling: Two chillers will be installed in cascade on the new flat roof, enabling the new rooms to be slightly cooled via the underfloor heating and the ventilation system.
